In this film, the phrase 'zhen hao kan' was used. Could you have used 'piaoliang' as well? Can these phrases be used interchangeably?
Both "好看hǎo kàn" and "漂亮piào liɑng“ mean "beautiful". Sometimes, they can be used interchangeably.
In the movie, we can use "piào liɑng" as well.
The difference between them is that "hǎo kàn" is more colloquial than "piào liɑng“ and "piào liɑng" can be used to describe abstract objects. For example, we can say "干的漂亮gàndepiàoliang(Well done)!"
We can say这是我的小小心意 This is a small gift for you.
"玉镯(Yùzhuó)" is jade bracelet.
It has been an adornment and artwork popular in women since ancient times in China.
The wedding tradition of “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” 有旧、有新、有借、有蓝has been around for hundreds of years. Many brides have been asked on their respective wedding days if they have gathered something old, new, borrowed and blue to carry with them as they walk down the aisle. The tradition of carrying or wearing one of each item is said to bring luck and fortune to the newly married couple.
in chinese culture ,they more or less keep the similar convention....
"老货"(lǎo huò)
It refers to something sold in ancient time. Like jade bracelet, the older it is , the more it is worth.
Typical chinese bracelet. The mother said it was 贵重. That means #precious# here or #costly#
